Solar Removal & Reinstall for Roof Replacements

Roof replacement on a house with solar? Delta Solar is the partner who pulls the array off, hands the roof back to your crew, and reinstalls and recommissions the system after dry-in. You stay focused on the roof.

Don't lose a roofing job because of the solar on top of it.

The array is in the way, the homeowner doesn't know who to call, and your crew isn't a licensed solar contractor. Delta Solar is built to be the solar half of that job so the roofer stays in scope and the homeowner stays happy.

Why Roofing Companies Bring Us In

A predictable, photo-documented, fully recommissioned solar removal and reinstall that fits into your roof-replacement schedule.

Stay in your lane

Your crews don't touch the array. We handle the solar so your roofers don't have to learn DC electrical, manage the inverter, or absorb the risk of damaging panels.

Licensed solar contractor

We bring the solar-specific license, electrical knowledge, and OSHA-trained team that working around an energized PV array requires.

Tight scheduling

We coordinate around your tear-off and dry-in dates. The roof is cleared, then re-loaded, on the timeline your crew is working to.

Photo-documented work

Every removed panel, optimizer, conduit run, and racking foot is photographed. If anything's questionable later, the documentation is in your hands.

Monitoring restored

We don't just put it back together. We recommission the inverter, verify each module is reporting, and confirm production before we leave.

Clean homeowner handoff

If the homeowner needs a written confirmation of the reinstall and warranty status, we provide it so the roofer's job stays simple.

What's In a Standard Scope

A flat-fee quote covering the removal day, secure handling during the roofing window, and the reinstall and recommissioning. Pricing varies with array size, equipment type, and any storage needed off site.

We will flag anything that falls outside a standard scope before scheduling, such as undocumented modifications by the original installer, severely degraded equipment, or interconnection paperwork that needs filing with the utility.

  • Safe disconnect of inverter, AC and DC isolation, lockout/tagout
  • Removal of modules, microinverters or optimizers, racking, and roof attachments
  • Photo and label documentation for every removed component
  • On-site or secure off-site storage during the roofing scope
  • Coordination with roofer's tear-off and dry-in schedule
  • Reinstall of racking with new flashings, attachments, and sealing
  • Module reinstall with proper torque, grounding, and wire management
  • Inverter recommissioning and monitoring restoration
  • Production verification and homeowner-facing field report

How Pricing Works

We quote a flat fee covering removal day, storage during the roofing window, and reinstall with recommissioning. Quotes are property-specific because the cost depends on three things:

  • Property location. Travel to the site is the biggest variable, especially for homes outside the central Arkansas service radius.
  • Array size and equipment type. Panel count, microinverter vs. string inverter, optimizers, and racking system all affect time on the roof.
  • Storage and schedule. Same-week reinstall is cheaper than long off-site storage. We work back from your tear-off date.

We can quote off photos and a panel count, so you can include the solar scope in your roofing proposal with confidence. Submit the form below to get started.

How a Typical Project Runs

Four phases that fit into a normal roof-replacement schedule.

1

Site walk and quote

We review the array, the roof plan, and the schedule with the roofing company. A flat-fee quote covers removal, storage, reinstall, and recommissioning.

2

Removal day

We de-energize, remove modules and racking, photograph everything, and clear the roof so the roofing crew can start tear-off.

3

Roofing scope

Your crew owns the roof during this window. We're on call if anything around the existing penetrations or attachment locations needs discussion.

4

Reinstall and recommission

Racking, modules, and electrical work go back with new flashings and sealing. We recommission the inverter, restore monitoring, and verify production.

Common Questions

More questions? Call (501) 683-8835 or use the quote form above. We work with roofing companies across Arkansas.

Do you work with roofing companies, or only directly with the homeowner?

Both. Most roof-replacement projects are coordinated through the roofing company that owns the homeowner relationship. We can also work directly with the homeowner if that's how the roofer prefers to scope the job.

How much lead time do you need?

Two to three weeks is typical for scheduling, with the array off and the roof clear for one to two work days on most residential systems. Bigger or more complex arrays take longer. Let us know the planned tear-off date and we'll work back from there.

Who handles the system's warranties and monitoring after the reinstall?

We document every removal step, recommission the inverter and module-level electronics, and restore monitoring before signing off. If there are warranty concerns with specific equipment we flag them in the field report so the roofer and the homeowner know.

Can you handle the utility and interconnection paperwork?

Yes, if the utility requires re-energizing the system through an interconnection notice or net-metering update we can handle that as part of the scope. We'll confirm utility-specific requirements before quoting.

What if the original installer is out of business?

That's a common case for us. We can take over the array regardless of the original installer, including monitoring access recovery, missing documents, and warranty registration questions.

Service work outside a roof replacement?

Inverter issues, monitoring problems, or a system that isn't producing? Our Service Division handles diagnostics, repair, and maintenance across Arkansas.
