The Opportunity

This client owns and manages a 42-acre poultry farm in Cleveland County, Arkansas. The electricity required to operate the 6 chicken houses, which span 122,000 square feet, is one of the key running expenses.

The Result

Delta Solar developed the system to best meet the needs of the farming enterprise and is estimated to save the client $25,000 per year on electricity costs. In addition to solar, this client has made additional improvements on his farm, including switching to LED lights and tube heating in the poultry houses to improve gas and power efficiency. The USDA awarded the system a REAP Grant to help boost the system’s positive impact on farming operations.
