Since 2017, Delta Solar has designed and installed commercial, agricultural, poultry, and residential solar across Arkansas. The team pairs solar engineering with on-the-ground knowledge of how Arkansas utilities and farms actually operate.

Our Story

Delta Solar was founded in 2017 when a PhD scientist, an agricultural expert, and a financier came together to collaborate on a solar installation for a local farm. They saw that Arkansas businesses, farms, and homeowners deserved solar solutions designed for their needs, not cookie-cutter installations imported from other markets.

Douglas Hutchings, our CEO, brought pioneering solar cell efficiency research and 8+ US Patent Application contributions. AJ Hood brought decades of agricultural expertise as Past President of the Arkansas Soybean Association. Together with their partners, they built a team that understands both the engineering and the agricultural realities of Arkansas.

The mission is straightforward: design solar that pays back on the numbers, keeps producing for the panels' full warranty life, and stays serviceable for decades. Today the company serves businesses, farms, poultry operations, and homeowners with installations done by our own crews rather than subcontractors.

2017

Delta Solar founded in Little Rock by Douglas Hutchings, AJ Hood, and partners

2018

Expanded into poultry and agricultural solar markets across Arkansas

2019

Completed first large-scale agricultural installation in southeast Arkansas

2020

Launched Service Division for O&M support; received USDA REAP grant recognition

2022

Expanded a growing installation portfolio across agriculture, commercial, and community projects in Arkansas

2024

Built a featured portfolio spanning 83+ selected projects across eight project categories
